Our Heart to Heart network is powered by fantastic volunteers who give their time to provide a safe, supportive environment for people to talk openly and confidentially about their experiences of living with cardiomyopathy. Becoming a Heart to Heart Volunteer is a rewarding and fulfilling experience with the opportunity to meet new people and develop your own skills.
As a Heart to Heart Volunteer, you will:
- Provide 1-to-1 emotional support over the phone to individuals at important junctures in their cardiomyopathy journeys – for example, newly diagnosed or having an ICD fitted.
- Where appropriate, signpost individuals to other Cardiomyopathy UK services, including the Nurse Helpline and our Support Groups.
We’ll support you with:
- Role-specific training so you can feel confident in your role
- Regular support from our Community Peer Support Manager
- An annual Heart to Heart Volunteers Development Day
- Opportunities to network with fellow Heart to Heart Volunteers
